Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris, born on the 20th of October, 1964, is a prominent American politician as well as a lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. Harris is the first vice president to be female and highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as well the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member of Congress and a former US senator representing California. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010 she was appointed Attorney General of California and re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California from 2017-2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As Senator, Harris was a vocal advocate for health care, federal de-scheduling and the legalization of cannabis, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. The attention of the nation was drawn by her sharp questions of Trump administration officials at Senate sessions. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual abuse.
