Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19th 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her most prominent character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. In the final season of the show Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The series ended on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was a speech and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian and of English heritage. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and says she goes to Passover seders.
